The Mother&Baby Awards 2016: The winners revealed!

Last night, the Mother&Baby Awards took place, giving us an idea of what products are likely to prove popular among parents over the next 12 months.

The awards covered a huge number of categories, and we haven’t mentioned them all below, instead choosing the ones we found either most interesting or which included winners that we’ve tried and tested ourselves.

So, read on to find out some of the highlights of the 2016 Mother&Baby Awards!

Best Travel System

Gold: Cosatto Giggle 2
Silver: ABC Design Mamba
Bronze: UPPAbaby Vista 2015

Our travel system is a Venicci, so not much personal interest here. However, it’s worth saying how popular the UPPAbaby is becoming. Lots of our friends from our NCT course use UPPAbaby and we spot them EVERYWHERE when out and about.

Best Pushchair

Gold: UPPAbaby Cruz 2015
Silver: Baby Jogger City Mini Zip
Bronze: Stokke Trailz

Another shout-out to UPPAbaby here, and also one to Baby Jogger City Mini. We picked up a second hand one for using on holiday and loved it. It couldn’t be more portable, faster to put up and down, and comfortable for little ones.

Best Electric Breast Pump

Gold: Medela Swing Essentials Pack
Gold: Philips Avent Comfort Single Electric Breast Pump
Bronze: NUK Luna Electric Breast Pump

I use the Philips Avent pump and find it really good. It’s efficient, comfortable, and does exactly what you want it to do! I got mine on offer from Mothercare and it’s proved to be very good value, and will prove to be even better value once I go back to work in the new year.

Best Highchair

Gold: Cosatto Noodle Supa Highchair
Silver: Stokke Steps
Bronze: Stokke Tripp Trapp

We’re getting the Stokke Tripp Trapp for our little one once she starts feeding, so it’s nice to see Stokke dominating here. We’ll do a full review next year once we’ve been using it for a while.

Best Product for Breastfeeding (excluding Breast Pumps)

Gold: Lansinoh HPA Lanolin
Silver: Lorna Drew Nursing Lingerie The Grace Nursing Bra
Bronze: Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads

Lansinoh HPA Lanolin is the must-have product for those early days of breastfeeding, so it’s nice to see it recognised here. The disposable nursing pads from the same brand are also pretty much the best on the market and essential from my personal experience.

Best Baby Monitor

Gold: BT Video Baby Monitor 7500 Lightshow
Silver: BT Baby Monitor 350 Lightshow
Bronze: Summer Infant Baby Touch Edge

We use a BT video monitor and really like it. It’s so good being able to keep an eye on your little one instead of just listening out for their cries. Ours also tells us the temperature in the room and we can play a lullaby on the baby unit.

Best Product for a Newborn – 0-3 months

Gold: Mamia Swim Pants
Silver: Tesco Loves Baby Newborn Nappies
Bronze: Halilit Taf Toys Musical Sleepy Pals

A bit of an odd one here in my opinion, with swim nappies coming out on top! Swimming isn’t exactly top of the priority list for 0-3 month babies so it is slightly strange. We use the Mamia Swim Pants (when we can; our Aldi doesn’t always stock them) but there are many more useful products we’ve used for our little one than the nappies!

Best Disposable Nappy or Nappy Brand

Gold: Mamia Newborn Nappies
Silver: Mamia Ultra-Dry Nappies
Bronze: just4bums Mini Disposable Nappies (Size 2)

Aldi nappies win again! We love them, a lot of parents we know love them, and our bank balance certainly loves them!

Best Baby Carrier/Sling or Back Carrier

Gold: Ergobaby 360 Bundle of Joy
Silver: Caboo NCT
Bronze: LittleLife Adventurer Child Carrier

We use a Baby Bjorn carrier but wanted to give a mention to LittleLife. We love some of their other products like the travel cot and it’s nice to see them do well here.
