Breastfeeding in public is something which nobody should be ashamed of, or worried about doing, but it can be a slightly daunting prospect, especially for first-time Mums.
I was reluctant at first to go out when I knew our little one might need a feed, but after a bit of Googling and a quick look on some forums, I read about a breastfeeding apron designed by Bebe Au Lait.
The apron covers you whilst you feed, and there’s a unique scooped neckline, which means you can constantly keep an eye on your little one while they feed. The sides of the apron stretch right round so you feel completely covered.
The more I’ve had to breastfeed in public, the more I’ve come to realise that actually nobody either really notices or cares about what’s going on. Obviously there will always be idiots out there who make you feel uncomfortable, but I’ve not encountered any yet. All of that said, I’m always happy I have my Bebe Au Lait apron to hand, just for the boost to my confidence.
If you’re a little wary about breastfeeding in public, I really would recommend this product. I chose the black apron as I thought some of the other colours drew attention to the apron, which isn’t really the aim of the product!
I bought mine from Amazon for about £27, which is good value for something I use most days at the moment. I know that Mothercare also do a version of this apron for a cheaper price, but for me the quality and design offered by the market leader, Bebe Au Lait, justifies the higher price point.
