We’ve got some pretty exciting food news today on the blog if you’re a fan of pop up restaurants. Thornback will be taking place at Leeds Dock between 12 and 15 May. Scheduled to coincide with the Leeds Independent Food Festival, it will seat 30 diners each day.
Tickets are £45/head, which will include a bespoke “seashore martini” on arrival and a 6 course British seafood tasting menu.
The pop up restaurant will be situated on the first floor of the former Google building, which offers a panoramic view of the canal.
The concept is the brainchild of Brett Barnes, a chef with a wealth of experience under his belt. He was Head Chef at The Reliance and The Cross Keys in Leeds, spent a year at Michelin starred The Star Inn at Harome (one of our favourite restaurants in the UK), and has big name experience in London to boast about (most notably working at Arbutus and at Mark Hix).
For this first incarnation of Thornback, he will be cooking alongside Ronnie Murray, former group head chef for Mark Hix and a chef soon to be hitting our screens (more details soon!).
If this sounds right up your street, you can buy tickets here before they sell out!
