Sarasota has plenty of attractions to keep families entertained, some cultural, some revolving around the magnificent coastal landscape, and some simply designed for fun!
Smugglers Cove mini golf fits into the latter category. An 18-hole mini golf course located on the N Tamiami Trail, Smugglers Cove offers families a hefty dose of fun for a relatively cheap price.
The course itself isn’t easy; the holes are fairly long, well thought out, and the turf well maintained; there are no dodgy potholes lurking ready to interrupt your shots! When we visited, neither of us got a hole in one, which is testament to the challenging nature of the course.
I liked the fact that each hole had a suggested route printed at the start, so you knew where to aim to stand the best chance of success. This is great info for kids who want to improve their putting skills (and parents who want to teach their kids in a very subtle way about angles!).
Smugglers Cove also boasts a little family of alligators that you can feed using a cane fishing pole. This adds an extra dimension to the experience and should keep the kids entertained for an additional few minutes!
This family-friendly attraction has been voted best mini golf course in Florida for the last five years, and it’s easy to understand why.
Keep an eye out for discount vouchers available on city maps and also on their own website and head down with the whole family for a dose of competitive fun in Sarasota.
