We’ve reviewed Oberoi Udaivilas on the blog before as part of our Indian odyssey blog series.

Needless to say, we had nothing but good things to say about this simply outstanding hotel, and so it has come as no surprise to us that the hotel has been voted the best in the world for the second year running by the knowledgeable readers of Travel + Leisure’s World.

The readers were won over by the combination of such an outstanding, picture-perfect setting in India and service from the hotel staff that goes consistently above and beyond.

Also included in the top ten in the list of best hotels in the world were the gorgeous Hotel Castello di Casole in Italy, the Triple Creek Ranch Darby in Montana and, slightly closer to home, Ashford Castle in County Mayo in Ireland.
