New 2016 routes released for Leeds Bradford Airport

Many of us are starting to think about where to head off to in the summer, or perhaps even earlier, as we look for ways to escape the blight of rain and cold that currently prevails in Yorkshire. With this in mind, it seems timely that Leeds Bradford airport has released its new 2016 routes for us to drool over!

So, for those of you who simply want the ins and outs of these new routes from our local airport in Yorkshire, here’s the lowdown:

  • Aer Lingus will be flying direct to Cork three times a week from March.
  • Aurginy will be offering flights direct to Guernsey from May of this year, with year round flights running. There will be up to four per week during the summer.
  • Vueling are now offering direct flights to Barcelona on a Monday and a Friday (perfect for that long weekend) from March until October at the moment.
  • Monarch will be offering summer flights to Malaga while their low cost rival Thompson will now fly direct to Menorca and Paphos as both look to expand their summer routes from Leeds.

Although none of these new routes are exactly groundbreaking, the option to fly with a rival to Jet2.com to more destinations is certainly a boost for the price-conscious traveller, and the fact that Aurginy is starting to think of linking Leeds to the Channel Islands is intriguing for us air travel geeks.
