Caroline’s thoughts turn from sunshine to snow…
It may seem odd to be thinking of ski holidays as temperatures rise and most of us are reaching for the suncream but Jet2 have just announced details of a new route from Manchester to Lyon which will be of interest to ski buffs in the north.
The service will run on Saturdays between 19 Dec 2015 and 9 April 2016 and fares start at £43 one way, inclusive of taxes. Lyon provides easy access to 170 great ski resorts in France, Switzerland and northern Italy and is the seventh skiing gateway to be added to Jet2’s schedule.
Those who live in Leeds and the surrounding area already have the choice of four snowy destinations which are served by flights from their home airport, Leeds Bradford: Andorra (from Barcelona airport), Chambery in France, Geneva and Salzburg.
If you’re not a fan of hurtling down the slopes at break-neck speed but still fancy experiencing a winter wonderland, take a look at our suggestion of where to stay in Salzburg. It looked beautiful when we stayed there one May and a dusting of snow could only add to the romance of the city.
