Here at Leeds Foodie, we like to keep an eye on some of the more unusual events taking place in and around Leeds for little ones.
One such event that has caught our eye this week takes place next Wednesday (February 3rd) at Leeds City Museum.
The museum will be hosting two special workshops (starting at 10am and 1pm) to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year, with the aim of engaging little ones in the festivities.
Chinese artist Van Nong will be showing kids and parents how to make stunning lanterns to commemorate the Year of the Monkey. Leeds City Museum have been keen to stress that no artistic ability of any kind is required to make attending this event enjoyable!
The event sounds perfect for parents wanting to introduce their little monkeys to new cultures from around the world and best of all: it’s free! If our little girl was a little bit older, this would be top of my list of things to do with her in the city next week.
You could make a day of it and take the kids out for lunch afterwards at our favourite Chinese in Leeds: Maxi’s. If that sounds like a good idea to you, check out our review of Maxi’s following our visit last year.
There’s plenty more going on around Leeds to celebrate Chinese New Year and a quick look on the Visit Leeds website should give you an idea of what to do and when. Enjoy!
