Last night, the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards took place at the Leeds arena. Celebrating the very best in the tourism industry in Yorkshire, the awards were judged by an independent panel.
We were personally thrilled to see the Hare Inn at Scawton named Yorkshire Restaurant of the Year. The Hare Inn is one of our favourites and if you’re ever remotely near the area and fancy a Sunday roast, please pay them a visit – you won’t regret it!
Elsewhere, Lottie Shaw’s Bakery was handed the Taste of Yorkshire Award. If you’ve ever tried Lottie Shaw’s parkin, this award won’t come as a great surprise to you.
In terms of accommodation, the Black Swan in Helmsley was named best large hotel of the year, and Yorebridge House in Wensleydale was named best small hotel. Yorebridge House offers individually styled boutique bedrooms and fine dining in an area of outstanding beauty.
Congratulations to all the other winners at the awards ceremony last night – we hope the hangovers haven’t been too awful today!
